Back to the Basics

One of the challenges for September hosted by Creatively- Green is "Back to the Basics".

The challenge is to use 80% Card stock on your layout...no Patterned Papers and no more than 20% of any other embellishment than card stock.

It felt great to sit down with limited supplies to create a layout.

It brought back memories of the days when I had very few scrapbook products and no knowledge of the Scrapbook communities and products that are available online.

Whatever would I embellish with !!! I guess my imagination would just have to figure it out.

This is the end result...pretty flowers that grow in my garden..my 2 Grand daughters.

For the first time in years ...I was able to celebrate my Birthday this year with all my children , their wives and my 2 Grand daughters.
ahhhhhh.....the memories....isn't that what it's all about : )

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a nice day :)

Oh yes !!! Halloween is almost upon us...are you ready ???

BBQ Ribs ! Fall ...the perfect time for grilled ribs!

For this recipe you may boil your ribs the day before your gathering.
Brush ribs with your favorite BBQ Sauce and wrap in foil, envelope style .
Refrigerate over night
Adjust the seasonings in your water ,to suit your families taste...don't forget to add the BBQ to the water !
I love this ribbon, it was a donation to my supplies a few years back from my Mother's dear friend up North.

Fall is here...maybe not on the calendar...but defiantly in the air.
Which means, for those who join in, the spirit of Halloween will soon be upon us.

Using an empty cookie tin.

There is a new store online called Creatively Green where you are able to locate Eco friendly craft products for your Scrapbook pages and projects.
Creatively Green also hosts a Message Board, where you will find inspiration to help in your efforts to craft green.

Shadowbox of Treasures

A shadow box created in memory of my father. A few small momentous that my Father treasured.
His compass that his father gave to him when he was young , to help him find his way home when he was out hunting.

Trap lines and Trails signed by the Author the year 1940.
My father went to this book many times in his life.

His auctioneer gavel.
In the summer time when the fur house was closed for the season he would strip down and refurbish antiques and auctioneer at the local auction house.

His duck call he would use when hunting.

And last but not least ,his photo is backed with Patterned Paper of Stamps his favorite hobby and side line business.

Nothing fancy just some small treasures.

Thanks for looking and stopping by my World :)
