ScraDigiStyle Template Challenge
Moo Two Design Calendar Challenge

Hard to believe we are moving into March already..seemed like the winter flew by and spring is knocking at the door.

Feb.was a learning experience for me as far as digital Scrap booking.

I forced myself to try a little harder and learn some new steps in creating with digital products, and very happy with what I have managed to pick up and retain.

Also very excited to see that Weeds and Wildflowers now has a forum and is offering challenges along with the Blog .
I have admired the products and Layouts there for awhile now, wonderful whimsical look WSW digital add to a layout.
So I dove in and purchased a couple of kits, joined the forum, and tried a couple of challenges.

I was also able to mix WSW on one of my layouts using ScrappyCats Designs and a challenge from Moo Two Designs.
Was not to sure how that was going to work, but pleasantly pleased to see it all came together nicely for my taste.(Duesler Layout).

Finished my February Calendar for Moo Two Designs looking forward to this completed project by the end of the year.
I plan on using photos from the great outdoors in my calendar layouts sort of a mini diary of the weather.
Productive month for me as far as digital goes hope March goes as well :)!

Mixing Challenges

I don't know why but rarely do I mix challenges..I like to focus on the challenge at hand.

But this layout had all the makings of three different challenges.

Challenge #1 iScraps Feb. embellishment challenge buttons 10 or more

Challenge#2 Sisterhood of Scrap Sat Sketch Challenge

"Elegant Dancer Sketch" by Jolene Pienaar

Challenge #3 ScrapDigiStyle Feb Tweak it Challenge (using the burn tool & playing with brightness and contrast)

All three challenges worked perfect together for me with this layout.

I need to try this more often :)

Playing with Scrappy Cats

The last couple of days I have been working on some layouts for this months CTM commitment for Scrappy Cats Designs.
I just love Nancy's creations her designs are everchanging.
You may find most any type of digital paper or elements to suit your needs in her designs.
They run from fun and funky to soft and vintage with every other style in between.
Mixing the kits up and using different elements from her other kits is always fun with Scrappy Cats Designs and produces a great result.
If you would like to check out Nancys digital products you may find ScrappyCats Designs at these stores

You may also find some wonderful freebies on her blog ScrappyCats Moving On
Stop on by and snag a couple for yourself and give ScrappyCats a try...you won't be disapointed.

Digital Freebie Kit

This week has been all about learning to create digital paper.

Soooo...tada !! ;) (silly,I know) .....here is my first set of Digital Papers.

So many helpful tutorials are available on the web to help you sort thru this process, this is the tutorial I decided to use to help guide me.

I began this paper with a couple of photographs I had taken of my garden, followed the tutorial and this is the end result.

Brads are also created from using the Paper only distorted to look like stone.

I have always admired the works of those who could paint or draw and wished that I had the ability to create what I see on canvas with paint and brushes...but sorry to say I do not have that type of artistic talent.

I have tried and it was brutal to say the least.

What freedom I found, learning how to create digital paper.

By the time I was done with the process,I walked away with the feeling that if I did have that type of hands on artistic abilities, this is what I would have created from my image.

Here is an example lo from "Lily Kit" using also a Doodle Vine frame from my "Doodle Vines Kit" featuring my lovely dil.

I tend to be drawn to deep earth tone colors so these papers may not be suited to every ones taste....but ..if you would like you may find the download link for Lily Kit below.

If you try Lily please stop back and leave a link to your creations..would like to leave a little love :)

And please a small credit to JeanMarie Digitals would be appreciated,Thanks so much.

Digital Freebie

WoooHoooo!

So excited to be able to share,my first of hopefully many more to come.

After a self imposed week of learning about pngs, brushes and sharing I am able to share with you some digital elements I have created. I have also added the original pngs without color to suit your own needs
I am fascinated by the shapes and textures of trees and vines ,so much movement yet so deeply rooted in there stand against the elements.

"Doodle Vines"by JeanMarie may be found here
If you give "Doodle Vines" a try stop back by "Welcome to my Craft World" and leave a link,so I can view your creations and leave a little love!
So kind if you could leave a credit to JeanMarie Digitals,Thanks so much :)

Sisterhood of Scrap

With time being so limited for me lately....you know how real life can get in the way,I have been playing around with mostly digital when I can get the chance.

Checking out the Sisterhoodof Scrap to see what they are up to,I found the perfect challenge to get me started.

This weeks challenge 3different PPs and 3 hearts a layout or card,I decided on the card .

For some reason I find cards to be a big challenge for me.I think it is because it is such a small space to work with as opposed to the large space you have when you do a layout.

Still have a long way to go before I am content with my card making attempts...as the old saying goes practice makes perfect :)!

If you have not checked out the Sisterhood lately head on over...the sisters are moving along into bigger and better they now have sponsers and some great challenges...and of course a new sister is featured every week..It may be you next!!

Playing with Digital Brushes

Well it took awhile...but I finally started playing with digital brushes in my PS.

With some inspiration from here to try my hand with my own hand drawn doodles and a mini tutorial from Scrapbook Etc. Feb/March 2007 issue I gave it a go.

Working with an older program of PSE 2,had to play around abit with the tutorial to find what would work for me.

drew my doodles on clean white Sketch book paper with black marker

scanned at 300dpi and saved to folder

opened folder in my PSE

ticked edit and define brush

name brush and save.

This is my lo using my own digi doodles..lot's of fun.. look forward to learning more about digital brushes.
