Felt Pin Cushion
Surfing around on the web a couple of weeks ago I came across this little felt project for a pin cushion, and could not seem to get it off my mind.Especially since I am always hunting for my needle that I use only for Scrap booking.
I started saving soda bottle tops and decided that maybe it was time to give it a try since the lids were starting to take over my desk.
I can see this little project making its way into some Christmas stockings as a stuffer this coming holiday.
Sorry about the clarity of the photo but my camera is slowly trying to come back to life after a loose wire.
If you would like to try this fun little project you may find the tutorial here contributed by
Jen Segrest courtesy of CraftStylish.com
Maybe now I can settle back down to finish a couple of more classes :)

Technique Class 101 Week3 Doodling
Doodles are fun!! For this challenge at weScrap.com it is all about the doodles,
I packed all the doodle challenges into one lo,time is growing short.
Little Miss Emily is my subject choice again.
The photos of Emily I have been sharing are all from a weekend visit I had with her and her grandmother the day after her first birthday.
Honestly Brit, your Mother and I really tried to keep her clean (hehehe)!

Stitches & Sketches
Second part of week 2 Technique Classes 101 is all in the stitching.
To go along with this challenge ,I also used the inspiration Saturday Sketch found at the "Sisterhood of Scrap".
Sketch designer is Jodie Kautzner, you may also find some of Jodie's sketches here at http://sketchitout.blogspot.com/.
Have wanted to scrap this photo of my grandmother for some time now-for me it captures my Grandmother's creative side.
She was always working on some project or another and made it a point to make sure her daughters and granddaughters all had some knowledge in the finer arts of keeping house and making it fun.
Thru the years my family have all been recipients of my Grandmothers wonderful craft work.
For this challenge we are to stitch and faux stitch on to our layouts, this is my end result.
Thanks for stopping by !

Technique 101 Week 2
On to Week 2 of Technique Class 101 hosted by iScrap.com
For this Challenge we are to use Utee and the crackle effect, enmboss a title ,Watermark our Background and create an embellishment using Utee.
Actually this is 2 Challenges combined into one for this class...running short on time!
I also used some of the wonderful treats that came from my RAK Kit hosted by the "Sisterhood of Scrap" and contributed by "Scrap in Style TV"
Vintage Tag is a digital from Scrappy Cats Designs I printed out.
Words of caution,DO NOT leave in the freezer longer then a couple of minutes, otherwise when you go to crack you will find pieces flying everywhere!
For my photo I used 3 photographs to achieve this look..no Utee on the top cut out face and only a light layer on the body..found that it crackled just as well with light coat of Utee.
The bottom photo is four layers of Utee..cooled and cracked then inked.
Scotch Guard double stick foam tape for dimension.
The frame is first Inked, them embossed randomly with different metallic powders..covered with four layers of Utee, then Stamped and added bling.

Fabric Paint
Hope you all had a fun Holiday this past weekend,
Life around here has been rather busy, but I did manage to squeeze in another page for Technique Class 101 hosted by iScrap.
For this challenge we are to use fabric paint and glitter glue on a lo,also we are to create an embellishment using fabric and paint.
This is the end result for my lo.
Using an old napkin for my fabric and some fabric paint I created my bugs
One thing I discovered about paint is it is forgiving, not happy with the colors I used on the my big flower, when it dried I was able to paint over with a new color.
I liked the added depth and dimension it added to my page and decided to give it another layer of paint..very pleased with the results.
Another layout of Miss Emily in my Garden.

Five Random Photos
Text Thursday at the "Sisterhood of Scrap" this week is a Blog Challenge.
Five Random things about yourself or Five Random Photos.
Here are five random photos of art pieces that caught my eye when I paid a visit to Arizona.
Spent a good bit of time visiting art galleries and little shops along the road.
So much color!!
My favorite piece is the lovely lady in the bottom photo.

Playing With Paint
Second class challenge for Technique Class 101 week 1 hosted by iScrap.net is all about paints.
It has been some time since I have used paint on a layout and most times I just use a touch.
For this layout I used only paint, except for the touch of one button as embellishment.
Pieces of Saran Wrap for the background and one small brush for the flowers.
I do not consider myself a true artist,so decided the best approach would be to have fun with this.
Really like the results that plastic wrap brings to paint.
Will be trying this technique again! I had such a good time creating this layout, reminded me of my childhood days in art class.
My eldest son and Aunt's dog at my Grandmother's house...notice the graffiti on the barn walls.
My grandparents were all about expressing yourself and allowed all the grandchildren one side of the barn to do so!
