It rather denotes a lack of courage."

Free Digital Heart Border

Hello Crafty Bloggers :)

The New Year has arrived and is now 11 days old.

In that short period of time there have been joys and there have been sorrows.

There has also been a wipe out on my keyboard...happy to report, that issue has been fixed !!

A little tip... if you loose your space key... (hold down the Alt key, then press 3 than 2 that should give you a space) took me forever to locate a shortcut for this!!

I have been trying to get my crafty groove going ...slow going on that end.

When I get stuck doodling seems to help get me started.

So if you would like...I have a FREE Digital Heart Border for you to download today.

Nothing fancy just fun :)

I have another little project to share with you...on January 15 Th.

Create It - Green Blog will be having there first DT reveal !!

All geared around recycling.

There will be projects, Scrapbook Layouts and Cards!!

Very excited to be a part of this team!

Hope to see you there.

Thanks for stopping by ,hope you have a great day!

Playing with your Doodles in PSE

This ones for you, Jacqueline or anyone else who may find this helpful : )

how to convert your hand drawn doodles into working images for PSE

I will attempt to make this mini tutorial explanation as clear as I am able.
Hopefully without to much confusion...lol

By no means, do I possess the skills for writing or tutorials ...soo.. here is my best shot at it ; )

I hope you find this helpful and easy to follow.

1. Draw your doodle onto white sketch paper with black marker.

I personally like to lightly use a pencil first, then go over with black marker.
After ink dries completely, erase pencil marks.
( I like to use a Zig Ball for my black marker)

2. Scan your doodle, save in new folder as jpg .

3. Open saved doodle image in Photo shop Element .

4. Open a new Blank Canvas

5. Under options make sure your toolbar is checked.

6. with magic wand click on area you would like to select.

7. Deselect Contiguous option

8. set tolerance level to 50

9. with doodle selected by Magic Wand click Edit>copy

10. click new canvas >Edit>Paste ( there may be some clean up involved after you have pasted)

11. Save with transparent background as a png.

Color in photoshop , or you may color before you scan.

For my header

open a new canvas size > 648 by 140 pixels for (Blogger)

add colored png images until you have the look you are going for.

Flatten image and save as jpg.

Add to blog!!

That's it !! Good luck and have fun :) !!!

Doodles are fun!! For this challenge at weScrap.com it is all about the doodles,
I packed all the doodle challenges into one lo,time is growing short.

Little Miss Emily is my subject choice again.
The photos of Emily I have been sharing are all from a weekend visit I had with her and her grandmother the day after her first birthday.

Digital Freebie "Doodle Garden"

Such beautiful spring like weather we have been having, the last few days in my neck of the woods.
After some much needed yard work was completed,a well deserved cup of tea in hand along with my sketch pad,I headed to the picnic table to enjoy the rest of what was left of a beautiful day.

Here are a few doodles I came up with while I took advantage of the moment and pondered on what surprises my garden holds for me this year.

If you would like you may find Doodle Garden here.

A small credit to JeanMarie's Digital would be much appreciated.TY!

Playing with Digital Brushes

Well it took awhile...but I finally started playing with digital brushes in my PS.

With some inspiration from here to try my hand with my own hand drawn doodles and a mini tutorial from Scrapbook Etc. Feb/March 2007 issue I gave it a go.

Working with an older program of PSE 2,had to play around abit with the tutorial to find what would work for me.

drew my doodles on clean white Sketch book paper with black marker

scanned at 300dpi and saved to folder

opened folder in my PSE

ticked edit and define brush

name brush and save.

This is my lo using my own digi doodles..lot's of fun.. look forward to learning more about digital brushes.
