It rather denotes a lack of courage."

Hello Crafty Bloggers :)

The New Year has arrived and is now 11 days old.

In that short period of time there have been joys and there have been sorrows.

There has also been a wipe out on my keyboard...happy to report, that issue has been fixed !!

A little tip... if you loose your space key... (hold down the Alt key, then press 3 than 2 that should give you a space) took me forever to locate a shortcut for this!!

I have been trying to get my crafty groove going ...slow going on that end.

When I get stuck doodling seems to help get me started.

So if you would like...I have a FREE Digital Heart Border for you to download today.

Nothing fancy just fun :)

I have another little project to share with you...on January 15 Th.

Create It - Green Blog will be having there first DT reveal !!

All geared around recycling.

There will be projects, Scrapbook Layouts and Cards!!

Very excited to be a part of this team!

Hope to see you there.

February Challenges

Weeds and Wildflowers Layout Scrap lift Challenge Weeds and Wildflower Blog Freebie Challenge

MooTwo Heritage Challenge

ScraDigiStyle Template Challenge
Moo Two Design Calendar Challenge

Hard to believe we are moving into March already..seemed like the winter flew by and spring is knocking at the door.

Feb.was a learning experience for me as far as digital Scrap booking.

I forced myself to try a little harder and learn some new steps in creating with digital products, and very happy with what I have managed to pick up and retain.

Also very excited to see that Weeds and Wildflowers now has a forum and is offering challenges along with the Blog .
I have admired the products and Layouts there for awhile now, wonderful whimsical look WSW digital add to a layout.
So I dove in and purchased a couple of kits, joined the forum, and tried a couple of challenges.

I was also able to mix WSW on one of my layouts using ScrappyCats Designs and a challenge from Moo Two Designs.
Was not to sure how that was going to work, but pleasantly pleased to see it all came together nicely for my taste.(Duesler Layout).

Finished my February Calendar for Moo Two Designs looking forward to this completed project by the end of the year.
I plan on using photos from the great outdoors in my calendar layouts sort of a mini diary of the weather.
Productive month for me as far as digital goes hope March goes as well :)!

Digital Freebie Kit

This week has been all about learning to create digital paper.

Soooo...tada !! ;) (silly,I know) .....here is my first set of Digital Papers.

So many helpful tutorials are available on the web to help you sort thru this process, this is the tutorial I decided to use to help guide me.

I began this paper with a couple of photographs I had taken of my garden, followed the tutorial and this is the end result.

Brads are also created from using the Paper only distorted to look like stone.

I have always admired the works of those who could paint or draw and wished that I had the ability to create what I see on canvas with paint and brushes...but sorry to say I do not have that type of artistic talent.

I have tried and it was brutal to say the least.

What freedom I found, learning how to create digital paper.

By the time I was done with the process,I walked away with the feeling that if I did have that type of hands on artistic abilities, this is what I would have created from my image.

Here is an example lo from "Lily Kit" using also a Doodle Vine frame from my "Doodle Vines Kit" featuring my lovely dil.

I tend to be drawn to deep earth tone colors so these papers may not be suited to every ones taste....but ..if you would like you may find the download link for Lily Kit below.

If you try Lily please stop back and leave a link to your creations..would like to leave a little love :)

And please a small credit to JeanMarie Digitals would be appreciated,Thanks so much.

I am fascinated by the shapes and textures of trees and vines ,so much movement yet so deeply rooted in there stand against the elements.

Hybrid Holiday Planner

I can now share my hybrid Project created as an example for the Holiday Party at DragonFlaireStudios.

They released "The Scrapper's Holiday Planner" at their Holiday Party last night.
What fun I had with this project....so many options for creating with this Digital Kit.

I decided on a Holiday Travel Planner as a gift for my Mother,
She does alot of traveling during the Holiday season ...this planner will help her to keep all her travel information, personal and holiday events in order.
I used a Photo Album from the Dollar Store...altered it to suit my needs.
All dividers are pockets that she can use to store here tickets, receipts, etc.

Look for the release of this kit at DragonFlaire Studio"s Boutique

Texas Hold'em Tuesday

All chips are in and the second community card is on the table....looking a little better.

I toss in my chips along with a tip.

My tip for today.

when creating a digital layout ....why not play with the opacity of your elements.

click on a layer in the layers column and go to the opacity ...play with the numbers awhile to see what will give you the best look for what you are trying to achieve.

In the top example ...I altered the opacity of my photograph of my Granddaughter and used it as an overlay on my page.

A second example may be seen in my button for my first layout of Texas Hold'em.

A third example may be seen in "How do I Love Thee"
If you have never tried this before, why not play around with it and see what you come up with.

All chips in !

Texas Hold'em has begun at Sisterhood of Scrap.
Now holden two cards, and one on the table...looking a little weak...but still with some possibilities.
What to do....as I tip my visor.....I put on my best game and hope the other talented players
can not read my poker face.
With a two word title and a round embellishment,
I toss my chips onto the table and enter the game.

Creating with Freebies

This layout was created with a free Sketch and free "Touch of Red" Digital Kit provided by one designer...
Nicole Wozniak found at Lumpy Page Designs.
I mentioned Nicole's Blog and Freebies in my last post...but I just could not hold back on this inspiration for another time in the future and went right at it.
What better way to turn it around to suit my style .....then to use what she has provided to create.
