It rather denotes a lack of courage."

Earth Day Blog Hop Update

Hi folks :)
Hope you all had a fun time with the Create It- Green Earth Day Blog Hop.
Again I apologize that I was unable to continue in the hop.
A big Congratulations to all the winners of the wonderful prizes contributed by our generous sponsors!!

I thought I would share with you my other Create It Green Project that I had prepared for the hop.

Fun and easy aprons!! Created from t-shirts!
These are very simple and fast to create.

For my project I used 3 different digital donated by our sponsors.

Butterfly by The Digi Shack
Flower Cart by Fred She Said
Weeder by KLM Designs

Printed them out, colored and scanned them into my computer to be printed out onto Iron on Transfer paper.

Instructions for T- shirt Apron

1. Take an old t-shirt and spread out flat.

2. Cut under the arm sleeve straight across under the other arm sleeve.

3. Cut and remove the hem from the bottom of your t- shirt.
This will create your apron strings.

4. Next you will fold over to one side, both sides of the top of your t- shirt 2 inches.
Cut down about 1/2 an inch and 1 inch apart, fold back up.

5.Weave your hem strip through the slits.

That's it fast and a quick fix when you are in need of an apron.

Now, you may take it one step further by adding a pocket or any other embellishments that you may like.
finishing off the edges by folding edges in and closing with a hand stitch both the top and the bottom.

Depending on the size of your t-shirt will determine the size of your apron.

Hope you found this helpful !
As always thanks for stoppiong by my little corner of the Crafty World :)

Cookie Recipe With Character

Time for another Recipe Card Challenge .

This weeks challenge is to use a character on your Recipe layout.
Searching ,through my Stamps, I sadly realized I do not have any characters so to speak.
A little frustrated over this, I turned to the Internet to find some inspiration.

I happened upon a blog called Creative Dreams and found a freebie of Halloween Digital Papers that had the cutest Halloween characters.
I knew right away they would be perfect for my Witches Fingers Cookie recipe.

Sized down to suit my needs and colored over with some glitter gel pens.
I also added some witches fingers to the sides of this hybrid layout.
Always a favorite treat at my house on Halloween !!
Thanks for stopping by My World : )

Crafty fun and a New Challenge Blog

Lately, it seems to me I begin my posts with it has been some time since my last post!
Summer is still in full force here in my neck of the woods.
So hard to stay inside while the sun is still shining :)

Just wanted to share a couple of projects that I have been into when the sun goes down.

A new Challenge Blog out there called "Recipe Card Challenge" looks like it is going to be alot of fun!
They are now looking to put together a Design Team.
If you are interested, there is still time to submit your work for consideration.
They also have a store if you find you are short on supplies Scrapbook Store at your Door.

With requests from my son's wives for their husbands favorite dishes, I hope this will become a favorite book that feeds the soul as well as the body.

My first Recipe layout is one of my favorite Summer Salads.
A hybrid layout created with digital elements from Scrap Artist.com

Also going to use this in the "Summer use your Stash Challenge" hosted on the "Sisterhood of Scrap Forum"

Next is my Christmas in July project, also hosted on the "Sisterhood of Scrap" Forum .
My project is a Christmas Canvas.

Inspired by a button wreath decoration submitted by Ali MacDonald .
I thought it would be a great way to use up some of those buttons I have had sitting around for awhile.

Well that's it for today , hope you all are having a great summer and lots of Crafty fun !!
Thanks for stopping by my World :) .

Spending Time

Just recently my eldest son and his family flew home for a visit. So much fun to spend some time and reconnect with family.
What fun it was to watch Sophia as she became fast friends with her Papa's family.
Sophia and Addison get together for a tea party at Cousin Hannah's house.
I just love those little girls , so much fun !!

Created this layout using a Sketch by Deanne Burton..She is hosting a blog contest on Just My Sketches Blog.
Also this sketch by Deanne, is this Saturdays Sketch Challenge hosted by The Sisterhood of Scrap.
Two birds with one stone so to speak .

Thought I would create a digital Layout for the Challenges. It has been awhile..need to keep it fresh in my head :) all products used are Weeds & Wildflowers Digital Kits.
Sketch by Deanne Burton.

Couple of Small projects & Embossing tip

Most of my spare time lately has been pretty well planned out for me..but I have been able to squeeze in a few projects here and there.

This little guy is my first attempt at using Coffee for a stain and also creating hooded eyes.
My daughter- in-law thinks he looks like a potato and my husband would not like to run into him on the street...how bad is that !
I figured that maybe he needed a heart with hugs on it and a kiss and a hug to his backside in hopes that somebody feels sorry for his homely little self and dishes him out some love :)
All digital products to create this layout are from Weeds & Wildflowers.

Last of the cards that I have been creating for A Scrap Addict Sketches.
It has been a great time being part of Deanne's Design Team.
I look forward to all the new teams creations.
Thanks Deanne your the best!

Via a request for tip on embossing on my canvas project.

I would suggest for your needs to use a Versa Mark pen the fine tip end..no worries on the tapping off...just turn over and give it a thump with your finger ..should clean off pretty easy.

For a hard back Canvas just give it a tap with your knuckle this should do the trick

Also if stamping on a
stretched and mounted canvas, use your hand on the back of the canvas for support when pressing down stamp for a clean image. Hope this helps :)
Hope all is well in your Crafty World and thanks for stopping by :)

New Header & Card Reveal

My contribution for the November 16Th DTM Card reveal for Am I a Scrap Addicts "Just My Sketches Blog" .

Using Martha Stewart's Glue Pad and Glitter and Snowflake Stamp by SU, am happy with the results of the glue and glitter for the snowflakes.

My first attempt with a glue pad...very easy way to apply glitter!
Now if I could only find a way to scan glitter and have it look like the original !
If you would like to see all the creative cards created by the DTMs using the sketch they may be found here.
As always, thanks to Deanne ...great sketches for the month of November :)!

Has been awhile since I dabbled in a little digital fun.
I decided, since fall is almost over and the cold winds are blowing down our way from the North Country I would like to do something with a winter theme for my Craft World Header.
Looking thru my Stamps I discovered I really do not have to many that deal just with that season.
With sketch pad in hand I doodled myself some little Winter elements, scanned them into my computer.
Brought them into Photo Shop Elements and created pngs.
Using PSE I colored and created my winter scene.

That's about it in my crafty world, thanks for stopping by and hope you have a happy crafty day !!

iScrap Crop

Goodie Bag Challenge
Digital Challenge

Sketch Challenge

Progressive Page Challenge
Monochromatic Challenge
Poem for Mono challenge

iScrap had a fun crop this weekend. So many inspiring challenges, but of course there was no way I would be able to do them all.
I believe I must be a very slow scrapper.

Have to to give it up to some of the women, they were able to do almost all the challenges,if not all !! Three cheers ladies I am in awe!

I usually average between 5 & 6 of the challenges and am content with that..I have my limits :)

There was also some make & takes that are on my to do list..one in particular is a flower box posted by Cami...so cute for the Easter table..Have my project prepped and am moving slowly on this...my camera is broke ...so no way was I able to have it ready for the crop (no photo to post).
here is a link to the project if you would like to give it a try!
Thanks Cami!! that was a fun project!

Digital Freebie "Doodle Garden"

Such beautiful spring like weather we have been having, the last few days in my neck of the woods.
After some much needed yard work was completed,a well deserved cup of tea in hand along with my sketch pad,I headed to the picnic table to enjoy the rest of what was left of a beautiful day.

Here are a few doodles I came up with while I took advantage of the moment and pondered on what surprises my garden holds for me this year.

If you would like you may find Doodle Garden here.

A small credit to JeanMarie's Digital would be much appreciated.TY!

Working with damaged photos

This photo of my middle son has been one of my favorites of him for years..I love how it captured his fun nature...but alas thru time and those darn magnetic albums they sold us years ago...there is much discoloration and dark spots.

I cleaned it up the best I could in PS,erased some of the worst of the worn spots, turned it into a sketch then an overlay.
Pleased with the look I decided it was still scrapbook material, here is the end result.

Now that I have tried this I feel happy in knowing that some of the worst may still be usable.

February Challenges

Weeds and Wildflowers Layout Scrap lift Challenge Weeds and Wildflower Blog Freebie Challenge

MooTwo Heritage Challenge

ScraDigiStyle Template Challenge
Moo Two Design Calendar Challenge

Hard to believe we are moving into March already..seemed like the winter flew by and spring is knocking at the door.

Feb.was a learning experience for me as far as digital Scrap booking.

I forced myself to try a little harder and learn some new steps in creating with digital products, and very happy with what I have managed to pick up and retain.

Also very excited to see that Weeds and Wildflowers now has a forum and is offering challenges along with the Blog .
I have admired the products and Layouts there for awhile now, wonderful whimsical look WSW digital add to a layout.
So I dove in and purchased a couple of kits, joined the forum, and tried a couple of challenges.

I was also able to mix WSW on one of my layouts using ScrappyCats Designs and a challenge from Moo Two Designs.
Was not to sure how that was going to work, but pleasantly pleased to see it all came together nicely for my taste.(Duesler Layout).

Finished my February Calendar for Moo Two Designs looking forward to this completed project by the end of the year.
I plan on using photos from the great outdoors in my calendar layouts sort of a mini diary of the weather.
Productive month for me as far as digital goes hope March goes as well :)!

Mixing Challenges

I don't know why but rarely do I mix challenges..I like to focus on the challenge at hand.

But this layout had all the makings of three different challenges.

Challenge #1 iScraps Feb. embellishment challenge buttons 10 or more

Challenge#2 Sisterhood of Scrap Sat Sketch Challenge

"Elegant Dancer Sketch" by Jolene Pienaar

Challenge #3 ScrapDigiStyle Feb Tweak it Challenge (using the burn tool & playing with brightness and contrast)

All three challenges worked perfect together for me with this layout.

I need to try this more often :)

Playing with Digital Brushes

Well it took awhile...but I finally started playing with digital brushes in my PS.

With some inspiration from here to try my hand with my own hand drawn doodles and a mini tutorial from Scrapbook Etc. Feb/March 2007 issue I gave it a go.

Working with an older program of PSE 2,had to play around abit with the tutorial to find what would work for me.

drew my doodles on clean white Sketch book paper with black marker

scanned at 300dpi and saved to folder

opened folder in my PSE

ticked edit and define brush

name brush and save.

This is my lo using my own digi doodles..lot's of fun.. look forward to learning more about digital brushes.

Inspiration from an Online Crop

Progressive Page Paper Challenge(My Beautiful Granddaughter)

Word Challenge (Quest)

Survey Challenge

Why iScrap Challenge(Yep...that's me)

Color Challenge

Smart Eating Planner

It was nice to finally sit down in my craft room and let the creativity flow..not any great works of art...but a wonderful outlet and preservation of my family photos.

Time in my craft room has been far and few in between since the holiday and felt I needed some inspiration to coax the desire to create from inside.

What better way than an online crop!

iScrap had a fun one this past weekend with many different types of Challenges, games and make and takes.

I managed to put out 3 Digital and 1 Paper Layout,a make and take and 1 Bingo Game.

No where close enough in production to be eligible for prizes, but satisfied with my need to create and preserve the moment.

It was a very productive crop for the iScrap Gallery...many precious memories and fun projects where contributed by the members!

You ladies Rocked!!The one make and take I managed to get done was a Shopping Organizerby VIP Member Nancy Jones. Will be putting it to use to help keep track of the foods my DH can eat...recently diagnosed with Diabetes this past week. This little project should come in very handy and right on time for me.

Thanks to iScrap Team for inspiration and a fun time!!

Back to the Game

Had to step away from the table and stretch my legs..tough hand going on here...
now it's coming down to the luck of the draw....looks like I may be up the river with out a paddle.
With Thursday's community card at the "Sisterhood of Scrap" Texas Hold'em card game being the Ace of Diamonds...
there may still be a chance to build a hand of some sort.

With that said I toss in my chips along with a Black & Red Layout with a bit of journaling
and take the Ace into my hand.
