Rustic Twig Frames

Three Rustic Frames, put together to go along with the rustic theme, I have worked into my holiday decorating this year.

Finding these sweet little vintage Christmas Flower Fairy images at the Graphics Fairy.

Assembling the frames following the same basic procedures as the Rustic Stars.

Printing my images as 5x7 ,using clear Glimmer paint to highlight the berries.
Distressing Ink & a touch of Glimmer Mist lending the aged look.

Backing to 5.5 X 7.5 cardboard salvaged from the cardboard backing that came in a Paper pack and same size cut of Card stock.

All adhered together with Mod Podge to give a sturdy hold.

Hot gluing the images to the back of the wooden frames.
Adding wire wrapped around the back of frame and pulling tight for the hanger.

That's it ! Thanks for stopping by :)

Rustic Christmas Wreath

Hello again Blog Hoppers :) are you still with me...LOL.. wake up!

If you find yourself here, you have made it to the end of Create It- Green's first Holiday Blog Hop!

I hope you have had fun and have found some ideas, that you might find useful in creating your own green projects.

My tutorial this evening will be on the Rustic Stars that you see here in the wreath I have created.

Everything you see in this wreath is either Eco-friendly or is a recycled item.

Even down to the snowman, they are created from Styrofoam fake pumpkins cut to size with an electric carving knife , taking from an old fall garland.
Then covered with Puffy Paint.

Here are the tools you will need to create this Rustic Twig Star.

Once you have determined the size of star desired for your project, cut 5 equal lengths from your branches with your nippers.

Laying out your star for the best fit, proceed to hot glue your twigs in the order indicated in the photo below.

Finishing off with wrapped twine around the joined 5 points as indicated in the next photo.

A little hard to see here...I covered my Rustic Stars with a coat of clear silver glitter paint for a touch of sparkle.

The possibilities are endless in the ways you can incorporate this Eco- friendly, easy to do project into your holiday decorations.

As a thank you for stopping by and visiting I have a draw for a little blog candy .
2 sets of clear stamps from Autumn Leaves and Martha Stewart's Doily Scalloped Edge punch.

Only requirement to have your name in the draw.
Leave a comment, in any of the 3 Create It-Green posts I have shared with you today,
and if you would like, share your favorite recycling tip with everyone.
I will be drawing the winning name on Monday.

Thank you , Create It GREEN and to all the contributors for making this hop a pleasure and wonderful learning experience.

A special thanks go out to Susan for all her hard work organizing this hop! Great job!

And to all of my visitors as always thanks for stopping by My Craft World !

Have a wonderful GREEN Holiday!

Rustic Wrapping

Have you been checking out all the creations that have been posted through out the day?
Some wonderful projects and ideas to try!

If you just happened to stop by, head back here to start from the beginning of Create It-Green's very first Blog Hop.
Don't miss out on some wonderful Green tips and Ideas for making this Holiday Season a little more Earth friendly.
Also, lets not forget all the wonderful prizes to be had.

My next project to show you, is just a fast and easy wrapping, for those last minute gifts when you are running out of traditional wrapping paper.

I also like to wrap empty boxes this way to place around the house.
Fits right in to my style of holiday decorating.

Using a empty cigar box as my base, brown paper grocery bag and natural jute twine for my Ribbon and wrappings.
Creating a Rustic Snowflake out of thin sticks cut to size, hot glued together and puffy paint for a touch of snow.
Embellishing with a Crystal brad for some bling and a chipboard greeting from my supplies.

And you are done..Eco-friendly, and festive for the season.

See you again later on...don't forget to be eligible for my prize draw...just drop a comment on any of the projects I post today and your name will go in the draw :)
Have fun!

Hoppy Holidays !

Come on in, Welcome to My Craft World !

Hope you have been enjoying Create It- Green's first Holiday Blog Hop.

Through out the day you will find Eco -friendly projects and tutorials, that we hope will inspire you to Create It- Green.

My first contribution to today's Holiday Blog Hop.

A Christmas Package Decoration.

Reusing Styrofoam that came in a delivery box to our home is the base for this decoration.

Cut down to size using an electric carving knife, made easy work of this project.
Spanish Moss adhered to the Styrofoam was used for the wrapping.

Ribbon salvaged from a past Christmas gift and berries cut from a bouquet of plastic flowers, that was destined for my Mother's trash bin to top it off.

They can be used as a decoration for your tree, or grouped together in a basket for a pretty Holiday display for the home.

Another option for this cute Eco - friendly project, may be viewed, on your next hop back here at 10:00 pm EST this evening.

I will have another project and a tutorial to share with you all.

Hope you are still awake by then...LOL!

Christmas Dishes in July

Recipe Card Challenge for this week is all about Christmas themed Recipe layouts!
The big meal for the day on Christmas at my house, is Brunch followed by tasty appetizers through the day.
With a traditional Dinner of Italian Dishes on Christmas Eve there is never a want for something to eat.
This leaves the day open for me to enjoy the fellowship of family and friends.

This recipe is prepared the night before and placed in the refrigerator and popped in the oven as soon as my feet hit the floor on Christmas morning.
By the time everyone is waking up the house is filled with the most wonderful smell.

One of my favorite and easy recipes to put together is Sausage & Egg Casserole..fast and easy to prepare.
Also may be adjusted easily for the amount of folks who will be enjoying breakfast with you on Christmas morning.
No fuss no muss ...my kind of cooking and tasty to boot!!
This layout is a digital Hybrid , digital wreath credit "Serenity Blue" Holly Berries Kit.

One of the many appetizers for the day, Easy Peasy Sweet & Sour Meatballs.
You may use frozen Meatballs in a bag, if you would like to cut back on time preparation.I tend to use them as we enjoy homemade meatballs with our Christmas Eve dinner.( for a change of taste)
Just make sure you thaw them first.
I created this recipe card using some leftover elements from a Christmas Card kit I had purchased a few years back.
That's it for today.
If you would like a closer look at the recipes just click on the pictures.
Thanks for stopping by my Craft World and have a Crafty Day :).

Paper Christmas Tree

Surfing the web, I came across this cute and easy little Christmas tree project here .

Following the directions this little tree came together fairly quick.

Taking it one step further I created a simple box using Bazzill Card stock, Snowflake Stamp by Stamping Up, Dazzling Diamonds glitter and clear embossing powder.

Filled my Box with Styrofoam ,using a wooden stick to hold in place.

Topped off with puffy Paint and dried grass.

This would be a fun and easy Christmas project to do with the family !

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a Crafty day :)

Hometown Christmas Holiday Kickoff

I don't know about anyone else, but for me the Holiday season really begins with our annual Christmas Parade.

I love everything about a parade, School bands, floats, local fire companies and all the holiday cheer that is extended between the parade participants and crowd of onlookers.

And most importantly the arrival of Santa on a horse drawn sleigh !

Over the weekend I was able to attend this years parade with my Mother.
Her first taste of the Holiday season in her new town !!

Then off to a local restaurant for a warm beverage and lunch.
Grand day to help get in the holiday mood.

I used Photobucket3 to collage my photos as I had over 200 and to protect some of the participants identities.
Just thought I would share with you a little taste of my hometown spirit !

Canvas & Paper Christmas Wall Decoration

Over the summer I came across some 12 X 12 Canvases at Big Lots for $5.00 each and picked up a couple.
Not sure what I would do with them at the time, but thought they might come in handy when the urge struck to try something different.

Using Rangers Alcohol Ink,blender solution and applicator,I colored my canvas to suit the colors of my kitchen.
I found some free primitive art stitching patterns here .

Printed out my template on standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper and proceeded to make a paper piecing pattern for my snowman and bird.

Embossed my snowflakes onto canvas using Versa Mark and brown embossing powder from Close to My Heart added rhinestones for embellishment.

Using a Black marker for my Title and details.

Snowflake Stamps are from Stamping Up Collection.Paper was applied using Mod Podge with some Mod Podge applied randomly sponged on for some shiny dimension.

I picked this pattern to fit into the Monday Challenge this week on the "Sisterhood of Scrap".
Also I really thought he was such a cute little guy ! :)

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world, hope you have a crafty day !!

New Header & Card Reveal

My contribution for the November 16Th DTM Card reveal for Am I a Scrap Addicts "Just My Sketches Blog" .

Using Martha Stewart's Glue Pad and Glitter and Snowflake Stamp by SU, am happy with the results of the glue and glitter for the snowflakes.

My first attempt with a glue pad...very easy way to apply glitter!
Now if I could only find a way to scan glitter and have it look like the original !
If you would like to see all the creative cards created by the DTMs using the sketch they may be found here.
As always, thanks to Deanne ...great sketches for the month of November :)!

Has been awhile since I dabbled in a little digital fun.
I decided, since fall is almost over and the cold winds are blowing down our way from the North Country I would like to do something with a winter theme for my Craft World Header.
Looking thru my Stamps I discovered I really do not have to many that deal just with that season.
With sketch pad in hand I doodled myself some little Winter elements, scanned them into my computer.
Brought them into Photo Shop Elements and created pngs.
Using PSE I colored and created my winter scene.

That's about it in my crafty world, thanks for stopping by and hope you have a happy crafty day !!

Christmas Cards

Trying to get ahead of the Holiday season .
I have joined in the challenge on "Christmas Cards all Year Long" .

October thru December the goal is to complete 15 different cards before the holiday is upon us.
Usually,I just pick up a kit when I come across one I like and put them all together, choosing a card challenge here and there to throw something different into the mix.

Hopefully this will help me keep ahead of the game with each recipient receiving their own special greeting .
The added bonus is it will help me in my card making skills !

Symbol Challenge

Pattern and Bling Challenge
All five Card Challenges have been posted for the month of October .

Martha's Ribbon

Decorations are up,the tree is trimmed and the holiday shopping is in full force.

How about your own little gift box for that special little Holiday treat that you would like to share .While you are visiting check out all the other fun projects that are available for your viewing at Craft ideas lots of Holiday Inspiration to be found.

One of my favorite sites Country Living has some helpful ideas for Holiday packaging and wrapping

Traditional Advent Calendar

Growing up in our house we always had an Advent calendar to help count down the four Sundays before Christmas.
Times have changed and so have the many types of Calendars that may be found to help count down the days before Christmas.
With a tutorial located in the tutorial Section of iScrap designed by Jessica Acs,
My advent Calendar was easy and fun to make.
I used coloring book pages scaled to size for my pocket covers, and traditional advent activities located on the web to my tags with some fun activities scattered in the mix.
Glitter Gel pens to add some glitz.
Lots of fun and easy to make project..so many possibilities to make this tutorial work for your personal Holiday celebrations.
